Speck of Blue

It’s that speck of blue
I find in you - That speck
of blue in a day drowning
in rain and cloudy; That speck
of blue ending
a rainbow’s memory
before violet;

It’s that speck of blue
tinsel in time’s expec-
ted, festive color sequence,
and that brightness’s offset
found flecked in all colors
in your constant azure light
that makes all difference.

It’s that speck of blue
you hide from me
in order to be normal,
That speck that scars you,
that never turned red
because it remains inside you
and makes you different.

It’s that speck
that somehow finds light
and, in it, one who
truly sees may find these
and all colors except
that speck of blue sadness
you are not.
